Role Description

ELKEME was founded in 1999 to support the Hellenic Metallurgical Industry. Through a variety of state-of-the-art laboratories, we focus on industrial research and technological development/analysis in four major metal sectors (Aluminum, Copper, Steel and Zinc). We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemist to join our team at our Oinofyta premises. The ideal candidate will contribute to research projects, perform complex laboratory analyses, and support our mission of enhancing industrial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses on various materials (liquid, solid matrices)
• Conduct laboratory tests using advanced equipment to support research and development projects
• Achieve and maintain ISO 17025 certification
• Collaborate with senior chemists and engineers on experiments aimed at improving laboratory performance
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and operating efficiently.
• Perform routine laboratory tests of samples, with and without the use of instrumentation following official methods and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols
• Always follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
• 3-5 years of experience in inorganic chemistry in a laboratory environment, preferably in the metal industry
• Very good knowledge of English Language (Lower Level)
• Knowledge of handling the following analytical instruments is mandatory: AAS and /or ICP-OES
• Familiarity with techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and other analytical methods
