Role Description

ELKEME was founded in 1999 to support the Hellenic Metallurgical Industry. Through a variety of state-of-the-art laboratories, we focus on industrial research and technological development/analysis in four major metal sectors (Aluminum, Copper, Steel and Zinc). We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Chemist to join our team at our Oinofyta premises. The ideal candidate will contribute to research projects, perform laboratory analyses, and support our mission of enhancing industrial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses on various materials (liquid, solid matrices)
• Collaborate with senior chemists and engineers on experiments aimed at improving laboratory performance.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly, performing routine maintenance as necessary.
• Perform routine laboratory tests of samples, with and without the use of instrumentation following official methods and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols
• Always follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
• Very good knowledge of English Language (Lower Level)
• Knowledge of handling the following analytical instruments is desirable: pH meter, conductivity meter, photometer and other basic devices
• Familiarity with techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and other analytical methods
• Experience in inorganic chemistry will be appreciated
