Job Description

We’re looking for a Backend & Automation Engineer to join a high-growth Canadian startup operating in the Generative AI, document intelligence, and automation space.This part-time role is ideal for someone who’s fast, curious, and thrives in early-stage product environments. You’ll work directly with the core team to build backend services and automation flows using low-code tools and APIs.Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend logic (Node.js/Python) Create automation flows using tools like n8n, Make.com, or Zapier Deploy and manage open-source tools in self-hosted environments Work with APIs, webhooks, and databases Rapidly prototype and iterate based on internal feedback Own your work from idea to implementation 1–3 years of experience in backend or automation roles Strong programming skills (preferably in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python) Familiarity with automation tools like n8n, Zapier, or Make.com Basic DevOps knowledge (e.g. Docker, VPS deployments) Strong problem-solving and learning skills Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment Karachi-based preferred, but remote applicants welcome if highly self-directed
