The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial actions of Access Bank PLC. This role involves strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the financial health of the bank. The CFO will work closely with the executive team to drive strategic initiatives, optimize financial performance, and align resources with the bank's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support the bank’s overall objectives and growth plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with CBG requirements and accounting standards.
  • Manages company’s budget including revenue/direct margin, EBITDA or CAPEX level and drives the yearly budget exercise and forecast with line management.
  • Reports variances of revenue, OPEX, direct margin or investment/contract to provide an accurate financial situation with identification of risk and opportunity.
  • Analyzes, recommends and approves investment or profitability for complex files or projects (e.g. infrastructure, new products, promotions) and selects those that support company’s strategy and optimize its commercial position.
  • Develops financial plans, organizes product structure in a business logic way and supports/advises in decision making, investment and customer offers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, auditors, and financial institutions.
  • Drive financial risk management strategies to mitigate operational and credit risks.
  • Participate in the development of the bank’s strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Manages and motivates subordinate staff; reviews and assesses performance, builds employee capacity, supports their professional development and enables employees to optimize their contribution to the department.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

ACCA Certified.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.

• Proven track record of strategic financial planning, budget management, and performance improvement.

• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound business decisions.

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on building a high-performance culture.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable.
