Daikan Izakaya, City Walk a premier destination for Japanese cuisine, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. In this role, you will support the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section, aiding in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in Food Preparation: Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes, ensuring all standards and recipes are strictly followed.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistency in taste and presentation of dishes in your section, regularly checking ingredients for freshness and quality.
- Cooking Skills Development: Actively engage in developing your culinary skills and techniques, learning from senior kitchen staff.
- Kitchen Hygiene: Keep your workstation organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations, practicing proper food handling and sanitation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team, communicating effectively to ensure smooth operations and timely service during meal periods.
- Inventory Assistance: Help in the management and organization of kitchen supplies, ensuring all ingredients are well-stocked and fresh.
- Team Support: Provide assistance to junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and promoting teamwork within the kitchen.
- Prior experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen is preferred.
- Basic culinary skills and a strong desire to learn and develop in Japanese cuisine.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Culinary degree or equivalent training is a plus.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
