Wardell Armstrong is a multidisciplinary Environmental, Engineering, and Mining consultancy providing a broad range of services to the Infrastructure & Energy, Property & Development, and Mining & Minerals Sectors. The Opportunity:Due to continued success in delivering ecology/environmental oversight to construction projects, we are looking to appoint experienced site/construction-based ecologists. The role will be open to people seeking 6-month contracts, 12-month contracts or permanent contracts for work in the wind/rail/nuclear sectors. Successful applicants would be expected to stay away from home for an average of four nights a week, sometimes including Sunday nights. In this exciting role you will:Be an integral member of our client’s delivery teams on our major infrastructure projects;Work alongside ecologists and engineers;Be responsible for ecology data collection;Be responsible for the design and implementation of ecology mitigation (e.g. management plans, non-licensed method statements, licensed method statements);Be responsible for delivering pragmatic and timely solutions to ecological constraints;Procure and engage with subcontractors. As the successful candidate you will:Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline;Hold a white CSCS card;Have a minimum of 12 months experience of the same type of work;Hold, or be working towards, ‘qualifying member’ status, or higher, of CIEEM;Have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to develop new ecology field skills, including during unsocial hours (e.g. overnight bat surveys) and often away from home (expenses paid);Be willing to work away from home for 3-4 nights a week in paid-for hotels or self-catering accommodation;Be able to work effectively as part of a team;A full UK driving licence.For all positions we offer:· 1.5x pay for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm – 6am);Membership of the Firm's Group Personal Pension Plan, with Employer's contribution of up to 5%;Payment of a relevant professional subscription;24 days annual leave per year;Membership to the Firm's Private Health Care Scheme;Inclusion in the Firm's Critical Illness Cover Policy;Inclusion in the Firm's Life Assurance Policy, insuring you 3 times your annual salary;Mobile Phone with inclusive tariff including personal usage;Long service awards.
