We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Engineering Manager specializing in System Architecture to lead our architecture team in the design and development of scalable, robust, and high-performance systems. In this position, you will be responsible for setting the system architecture for complex software platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with business objectives. As the Engineering Manager, you will provide both technical leadership and managerial oversight, guiding a team of architects and engineers through system design, integration, and implementation processes. 

As an Engineering Manager, System Architecture, your daily workload might include: 

• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers and architects to design, develop and maintain system-wide platform features. 

• Ensure the quality of code and design against the industry’s best practices and highest standards.

• Coach and mentor team members on high level design, architecture, effort sizing and testing practices. 

• Give team members feedback on their day-to-day job performance. 

• Steer the engineers’ individual learning and development plans. 

• Initiate hiring and the allocation of any resources needed to support the team. 

• Oversee the execution of the software development process. 

Our target profile is candidates with...

• BS/MS from a top school in Computer Science or any related field. 

• 10 years of software engineering experience in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications. 

• Previous management experience. 

• Solid communication skills and the ability to convey technical solutions to management and the engineering team. 

• Solid experience of multiple programming languages with a demonstrated drive to learn and progress in the technical skill and nuanced art of development.  

• Proficient understanding of system design and distributed computing principles. 

• Deep Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases. 

• Solid understand of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes.
