Job Summary:To lead and execute product development initiatives by creating innovative, functional, and cost-effective furniture designs that align with market trends, customer needs, and manufacturing capabilities.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute new product designs and prototypes based on market research and client requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and sales, to ensure alignment of product concepts with business goals.Conduct feasibility studies to assess the practicality of new designs and materials for manufacturing.Analyze market trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation.Prepare detailed technical drawings, product specifications, and BOMs for new designs.Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation to ensure quality and functionality.Work with suppliers to identify and source suitable materials for product development.Ensure all designs comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.Provide support for production ramp-up, troubleshooting any issues during the transition from prototype to manufacturing.Maintain thorough documentation of all product development processes, iterations, and outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 1 year in product development, preferably in the furniture manufacturing industry.Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or 3ds Max. Familiarity with prototyping techniques and tools.Strong understanding of furniture materials, production processes, and quality standards.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.Ability to think creatively and drive innovation in product design and development.
