HI Partners, a leading recruitment and staffing agency, is assisting one of our prestigious clients in Luxembourg in their search for an Experienced Accountant within the commercial sector. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional fluent in German and French, with strong expertise in accounting principles and Luxembourg regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and manage current accounting records.
  • Handle year-end accounting and prepare annual and interim financial statements.
  • Prepare periodic tax and VAT returns, as well as summary reports (État Récap) for intra-European transactions.
  • Independently manage balance sheet accounting and conduct administrative audits.
  • Ensure timely preparation and reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data for strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for management on all accounting matters and operational controlling.
  • Reconcile general ledger, customer accounts, and accounts payable.
  • Serve as the liaison for external/internal accounting transactions related to creditors and debtors.
  • Coordinate with external partners such as auditors and tax consultants.
  • Manage the registration of new companies and their ongoing VAT-related compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all tax deadlines.


  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  •  5-8 years of experience in commercial accounting, ideally within a similar role in Luxembourg.
  •  Fluent in German and French (English is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong team player with a hands-on approach and proactive mindset.
