About the role: 

We are looking for a bright, talented and detail-oriented FP&A analyst to be part of our small FP&A team and part of the wider central finance team specifically working with the company’s corporate functions.  These are: the corporate department, IT department, sales and marketing and the finance department.  The role will form part of the newly created central finance function based in our London office. The analyst will work with departmental heads comparing actual expenditure to budget and recommending future courses of action.  The analyst will be the first point of contact for enquiries related to the corporate functions and be responsible for draft budgets and forecasts for these departments. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modelling skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication abilities.  The company uses D365 Finance & Operations as its finance system so the role involves working within this system to assist with the creation of  management information on a monthly basis and year-end close.   

Key requirements: 

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans with a specific focus on the corporate departments. 

• Business partner with relevant department heads providing financial support and information. 

• Contribute to the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack, including the monthly P&L, cashflow and balance sheet 

• Reconcile spending with budget for each corporate department and report variances with commentary 

• Liaise with the Indian shared service centre for AP transactions 

• Understand the cost drivers of each department and recommend methods and strategies for managing costs 

• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making 

• Maintain records and support external audit efforts as needed 

• Make recommendations for improving controls and procedures 

Qualifications: 

• CIMA, or ACCA Qualified or part qualified and in active training 

• 2+ years of experience in a similar planning or accounting role 

• Good understanding of month end close procedures 

• Excellent communicator 

• Proven ability of working under pressure 

• Strong modelling and IT skills and familiarity with D365 and the Microsoft Office suite 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Organisation skills 

• Problem-solving skills 

• Critical and analytical thinking 

• A team player with exposure to different cultures and previous multi-national experience
