Financial controller

Report to the CFO

Initially 3 month fixed contract

Immediate start

This position plays a key role in finance but also the wider business. As Finance Controller your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end financial operations including but not limited to managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, supporting payroll preparation, closing the books, preparing supporting working papers and analysis, making improvements to procedures and controls as well as ad-hoc projects and requests.

• Perform month-end and year-end close processes and lead preparation of group and entity level management accounts, statutory accounts and consolidated accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, working papers and analysis in support of financial results
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Manage preparation of UK and international payrolls
• Lead VAT Return preparation review and submission
• Prepare UK and US Corporate Tax, Employment Related Securities, PSA & P11D returns with support of external tax advisers
• Drive compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements for the Group.
• Assist with the preparation of all our Regulatory reporting
• Interpret accounting guidelines and deliver guidance, insight, and technical expertise on how it relates to general accounting scenarios
• work as a business partner with all functions and divisions as appropriate and liaise with key functional individuals to provide technical statutory accounting input.

• Qualified ACA/ACCA with 5+ years post qualification experience
• Good understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, corporation tax and R&D tax credits.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good interpersonal, communication skills & Demonstrable Initiative
• Ability to deliver responsibilities with minimum supervision
