Company Profile:

Our client, a family-owned business in the e-commerce and retail industry, is located in the scenic High Sierras of Reno, Nevada. They already employ 3 full-time and 4 part-time graphic designers from the Philippines, and there is a Filipina on their management team. This year, they grew their number of wall calendar titles by 40%.

For the past 13 years, they have been dedicated to crafting a diverse range of high-quality wall calendars. While their calendars serve a functional purpose, they aim to bring beauty, inspiration, and joy to people's everyday lives. 

Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

As a Graphic Designer, you will create and update calendar templates in InDesign, design front cover titles, and add captions or quotes in collaboration with the editorial team. They will design themed calendars, update Amazon product pages, lead special projects like new product designs, and provide design direction for websites and Shopify stores. The role also involves streamlining internal processes to improve team efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create new and update existing calendar templates in InDesign for use in a variety of calendars.
• Stylize fonts for front cover titles that match well with specific calendar genres.
• Add image captions or quotes to calendars working closely with our editor and other staff through all the editing stages.
• Lay out a variety of calendars with themes such as nature, travel, animals, fun, inspiration, fine art, and more.
• Design and update various components of Amazon product pages including carousel images, A+ Content, Store, and more.
• Take the lead in special projects including, but not limited to, the branding process, designing new products such as a baby memory book, planners, page-a-day calendars, journals, and more.
• Provide design direction for developing a website, a Shopify store, etc.
• Select and edit stock images for the calendars.
• Help develop and streamline our internal processes to improve our design team’s efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design – Advantageous 
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience as a Graphic designer.
• Experience in working Printing Industry (Advantageous) – they are open in any industries 
• Candidate have a strong portfolio as a Graphic Designer or a similar role and experience in print media, preferably with a print magazine background.
• Experience in using graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign (Highly preferred) while Photoshop and Illustrator (Advantageous) 
• Experience in using project management and communication tools such as Google Drive, Trello, and Slack (Advantageous) – they are open in any communication tools 
• Comfortable with generating, developing, and communicating new ideas, and able to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Confident working independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting daily deadlines.
• Critical thinker and able to decide the best design for a project.
• Able to review your own work to correct typos and verify that requested edits have been made.
• Can speak fluent English and collaborate with a global team with ease.
• Highly creative, Flexible, and Reliable
• Attention to detail and great organizational skills.

Schedule: Flexible working schedule – 8-hours shift fixed (4-hour overlap with Pacific time is mandatory, and if there are deadlines to meet or projects that require lots of interaction with supervisor, then overlap will be longer). Candidate can clock in 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM Manila time – Depends on what will be discussed with the client/team.
