Job Title: Head of Accounting and Tax of Subsidiaries

Job Overview:

The Head of Accounting and Tax of Subsidiaries will be responsible for overseeing the financial accounting activities of subsidiaries and tax compliance for group companies. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that the financial statements are accurate, compliant with local regulations, and aligned with international financial reporting standards. In addition, this role requires expertise in corporate tax regulations, offering strategic guidance to mitigate tax risks and optimize tax benefits.


Key Responsibilities:

1.Subsidiaries Accounting Oversight:

  • Oversee accounting operations.
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements.
  • Prepare quarterly management reporting.
  • Prepare reporting package for consolidation purposes including consolidation of sub-groups.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate statutory audits and provide necessary documentation and clarifications.
  • Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities.
  • Establish clear objectives, performance goals, and a strong control environment to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

2.Tax Compliance and Strategy:

  • Ensure tax compliance efforts for group operations, ensuring adherence to applicable tax laws.
  • Prepare timely and accurate tax filings (income tax, withholding taxes, value-added taxes etc).
  • Ensure compliance with MyData reporting requirements.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities, providing strategic advice on tax planning and optimization.
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure continued compliance and to make proactive adjustments to tax strategy.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities to facilitate tax audits and provide necessary documentation and clarifications.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of quarterly CBAM (Carbon Bording Adjusting Mechanism) reporting.

3.Process Improvement and Automation:

  • Implement best practices and streamlined processes for accounting, reporting, and tax compliance.
  • Identify areas for automation and process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce manual effort across the accounting functions.

4.Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the legal, finance, and operational teams to align financial reporting with business goals and operations.
  • Provide financial insights and tax advice to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making on acquisitions, expansions, and other business developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting.
  • Extensive experience in tax compliance, corporate tax strategy, and transfer pricing.
  • Deep understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) would be considered a plus.
  • Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms would be considered a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
