We are seeking an experienced Lead Hardware Design Engineer to drive the design and development of high-performance, multi-layer PCB (Printed Circuit Board) designs for our cutting-edge products. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end hardware development, ensuring robust and efficient electronic designs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, to deliver high-quality, production-ready hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of multi-layer PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with electrical and mechanical design constraints.
- Work on high-speed, analog, and mixed-signal circuit design, optimizing for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Oversee schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection, ensuring best practices in EMI/EMC compliance and thermal management.
- Conduct signal integrity and power integrity analysis to optimize board performance.
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly vendors to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of PCB designs.
- Perform design validation, debugging, and prototyping, ensuring alignment with product requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware with firmware and mechanical components.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in PCB design, electronic components, and fabrication techniques to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in hardware design with expertise in multi-layer PCB design.
- Strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, or Mentor Graphics).
- Hands-on experience with high-speed signal design, power distribution, and thermal management techniques.
- Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design principles.
- Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testability (DFT).
- Proficiency in simulation tools for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis.
- Strong debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Experience working in a product development environment with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of EMC/EMI compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-frequency RF circuit design is a plus.
- Familiarity with FPGA/SoC-based hardware design.
- Exposure to automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics industries.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
