There are six engineers on the team currently. Four specializing in frontend and RN and two backend specializing in Go. For more details on the tech stack see this link to our candidate pack. We want you to have a big impact in shaping the technical direction of the product and help inform company-level strategy and decision-making. We are an app-first experience, and the tech you build is our entire product. It is what enables the whole company to function.As we are an early-stage start-up, there is room for you to have a huge impact on the future of the company and a large amount of autonomy to shape your role and get stuck in. You should be comfortable adapting your role and responsibilities as the company grows. We expect this might consist of:Being an impactful individual contributor writing code and driving technical performanceLeading engineering projects that drive company strategy and resultsPlanning and breaking down work to understand and communicate complexity which allows company-wide prioritizationHandling the “plumbing” - acting as a backstop to solve obscure and hard-to-debug things that might be blocking the rest of the teamKeeping the development cycle smooth & speedy - filling in the gaps, taking on the sometimes-unenviable tasks like keeping CI functioning, managing big dependencies, doing things that will best enable the other engineersWrite up high-standard engineering documentation to set up long-term practicesCollaborating with both the design and backend teams to create visually appealing interfaces that work to a high standard with fast-moving timescalesMaking our React Native apps “feel right” across iOS, Android, and web - with both parity and appropriate variation between eachShape and contribute to the best engineering culture Build strong and trusting relationships across the product team and org structureWe are building a team of people that have real ownership over the business. To be successful here, you should be willing to roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty on anything that will help the business be more successful.
