We are currently looking for a passionate Backend Engineer to join our Engineering Team.

Your role in the team:

• Work with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and other technologies. We don’t expect you to be familiar with all of them beforehand.
• Collaborate within a team to shape features and help make getolo an outstanding product.
• Apply Agile and Lean principles in your daily work.
• Pair with other developers to implement solutions and collaborate through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
• Work closely with product and design teams to analyze requirements and decide on the best technical solutions.
• Ensure adequate testing mechanisms are in place at all levels of the application and process.
• Monitor your deployed code to ensure stability and performance.

What you need to be successful:

•  2–4 years in software engineering.
• Proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails (RoR), or another server-side programming language.
• Strong skills in working with APIs and client application integration.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases.
• Background in developing web applications and applying various architectural patterns.
• Familiarity with building applications for cloud environments, along with curiosity about the operational aspects of software delivery.
• Exposure to Agile environments, with an understanding of core concepts and the ability to actively participate in and influence Agile practices.
• Hands-on practice with functional testing, integration testing, and API testing.
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
• Previous work in a product engineering environment is preferred.
• A solid understanding of testing strategies and best practices.
• Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and engaging.
• Front-end development skills, particularly with JavaScript would be a plus.
• Proficiency in English (at least C1 level); knowledge of German would be a plus.
