Elevate Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), driving characterization and qualification efforts, and ensuring successful transition of products into high-volume manufacturing. You will collaborate across multiple disciplines including Test Engineering, Failure Analysis (FA), Quality Assurance (QA), Design Engineering (DE) and external manufacturing partners.
This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role that requires a strong foundation in semiconductor device testing, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is self-directed, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Must be able to work onsite in San Diego, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical documentation, including schematics and datasheets, to support product analysis and test development
- Set up test boards, fixtures, and lab instrumentation to execute test procedures
- Perform bench measurements, collect and analyze characterization data
- Contribute to the development of characterization and qualification plans
- Support the design and bring-up of qualification hardware
- Create, update, and maintain product documentation throughout the product lifecycle
- Manage project timelines and contribute to budget tracking
- Assist in the development of manufacturing strategy and cost optimization
- Collaborate on root cause analysis of yield issues and implement corrective actions
- Work directly with outside vendors and OSAT partners for production ramp and sustaining support
- Support test program development, bring-up, and debugging efforts alongside Test Engineering
- Assist FA and QA teams in addressing production qualification or quality related issues
- BS in Electrical Engineering (required)
- Background in analog and/or digital semiconductor circuits
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and reporting (bench or ATE-based)
- Lab equipment hands on experience: oscilloscope, data analyzer, BERT
- Strong understanding of schematic interpretation and debugging of evaluation boards
- Hands-on experience with PCB assembly, prototyping, and soldering
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who is comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Interest or experience in mechanical prototyping, including precision machining or 3D printing
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, JMP JSL)
- Experience with benchtop and/or ATE testing environments and all supporting instrumentation
- Strong math and statistical skills
- Strong background in data analysis, statistics, and yield modeling
