Salary: £57,995 to £63,000 (Dependent on office location and proven ability)

The Role

Responsible for leading, developing, deploying and the adoption of Connected Places Catapult’s knowledge management strategy to ensure that knowledge is captured, accessible, categorised, shared and effectively utilised across the organisation.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the knowledge management strategy and function of Connected Places Catapult. 
  • Design, implement and maintain a comprehensive knowledge management strategy in line with the Catapult’s Corporate Strategy, mandate and relevant regulatory policies. 
  • Promotion of a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration through the creation of processes, systems and tools that enable the business to learn and continuously improve its use of data. 
  • Provision of guidance, training and support to colleagues to realise the full benefits of excellent knowledge management across the business. 
  • Creation of business information and reports that visualise the data that is held across the organisation to inform decision making, prioritisation of resources and effectiveness of the knowledge management strategy in place. 
  • Work with the Business Units, Strategic Units and Corporate Services to provide insights and recommendations to inform their respective strategies. 
  • Management of third-party data sets and resources to ensure their relevance and effective use, working with relevant colleagues to ensure compliance on usage and utilisation across the business. 
  • Collaborate with General Counsel to track and manage IP created across the business putting in place appropriate measures and controls to effectively manage. 
  • Ensure an ethos of equity, inclusivity and diversity underpin your work activity, contribute to inclusive innovation across all Catapult activities. 
  • You may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties to support the Catapult in achieving its strategic outcomes and ensure effective business operations. 

Required skills and experience 

  • Experience of supporting colleagues to understand and buy into the merits of Knowledge Management systems. 
  • Experience designing and delivering Knowledge Management approaches and methods to increase organisational learning and organisation credibility externally. 
  • Experience of innovative knowledge management solutions, including building smart repositories, taxonomy led searchable knowledge systems and user-friendly adoptable solutions. 
  • Experience of designing mix-method approaches and collecting/analysing qualitative and quantitative data to create knowledge artefacts. 
  • Experience of supporting others to use knowledge management systems to lead embed learning. 
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables and communicate insights in an interesting and compelling way using a variety of formats to suit the target audience.  
  • Ability to successfully develop collaborative working relationships across the business and work with colleagues with diverse skill backgrounds. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to support process development and compliance.  
  • An excellent working knowledge of the MS Office 365 suite. 
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied and busy workload delivering to a high standard with measurable outputs and meeting deadlines.
