Our client is a leading innovator in the eye care industry, specializing in high-quality contact lenses and vision solutions that enhance everyday life. In the market for the past 30+ years they have a commitment to science, innovation, and customer care, to serve eye care professionals (ECPs), retail partners, and consumers worldwide.

They are growing and looking for a strategic, results-driven Sales Director to lead their commercial efforts, expand market share, and drive revenue across new and existing channels.

Position Summary:

The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth, build and lead a high-performing sales team, and foster strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders in the contact lens and broader eye care market.

This role requires a deep understanding of the ophthalmic industry, particularly the contact lens segment, and the ability to translate customer needs into strategic action plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Strategic Sales Leadership 
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals.
    • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and growth areas.
  •  Key Account Management 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including optical chains, independent ECPs, distributors, and e-commerce platforms.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and partnership agreements.
  •  Market Intelligence & Analysis 
    • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Development teams to align messaging and product offerings.
  •  Revenue Growth & Forecasting 
    • Own the sales budget, forecasting, and pipeline reporting.
    • Analyze sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive sales experience in the eye care, optical, or medical device industry.
  • 3+ years in a senior sales leadership or director-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of the contact lens market, customer segments, and distribution models.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies in a competitive market.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-60%, including international if required.
