TERNA ENERGY is looking for:

Senior Accountant (Energy Sector)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate financial records and monthly provisions, according to Greek GAAP & IFRS
• Manage reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Support the preparation and submission of monthly & annual tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax etc.)
• Ensure My Data platform compliance
• Perform the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP (knowledge of IFRS is a plus)
• Support the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors, ensuring smooth completion
• Liaise with all parties involved in various accounting & tax issues (banks. external consultants etc.)
• Ensure the implementation of company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in the preparation of budget and cash flow
• Handle ad hoc financial requests across departments
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
• Assist with system enhancements and modifications to improve financial reporting

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and/or related subjects
• Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification are desirable
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience (Big 4 experience is a plus)
• Good knowledge of IFRS, Greek GAAP, and Tax Law
• Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written)
• Advanced MS Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (knowledge of the SAP ERP system will be considered an asset)
