This includes data analysis, exploration, aggregation, user modeling, and scalable training systems. As part of the Data Team you will be a key player in our small, nimble, internationally-distributed team and drive significant impact all across the company's data technology and business.As a Senior Data Engineer you will...Use Python and Scala to develop tools with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, PostGRES, Druid, Spinnaker, and Kubernetes. We run in GCP, and primarily work with Dataproc, Dataflow, BigQuery and Big Table. You will have the opportunity to join us in exploring new technologies and use them to design, deploy and operate highly performant systems.In this role you are expected to be comfortable working to high standards as a professional data engineer, dealing with huge amounts of business-critical data (PBs), and to contribute across a full spectrum of responsibilities from architecture to ops.Impact you will make:Architect real time and batch data processing pipelines to consume from multiple systemsDevelop tools to monitor, debug, analyze and operate our data infrastructureDesign and implement data schemas and models that can scale for hundreds of millions of usersCollaborate closely with the product and business teams to build new features and infrastructureCollaborate with Data Scientists to build large scale predictive modelsDevelop reliable data pipelines that convert data into powerful signals and featuresEvaluate new technologies for adoption, and organize smooth migrationsYou'll Have: BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline4+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, and SQL4+ years of experience in programming in any of Python / Java / ScalaExperience working in cloud environments, ideally with GCP or AWSStrong experience in improving performance of queries, data jobs, and scaling the system for exponential growthExpert debugging skills and emphasis on automated tests to build high quality systemsExperience with data pipelines processing larger than 10TB of dataThe following experience would be a plus:Experience with SparkExperience with Great Expectations or other Data Quality toolExperience with DatabricksExperience with Apache BeamWhat we can offer:Hybrid working meaning you can split your time between the office and home1 month work from anywhereSelf Managed Vacation Policy (no max on annual leave!)Healthcare401kLoopMe Gives Back; we have a committed and active CSR team who organize regular events to hold up our pillars of Learning, Charity, Wellbeing, Responsibility and SustainabilityWe’ll set you up for success, providing training and career developmentOur Compensation and Benefits (for California residents only){$170,000 - $200,000]In accordance with California law, the range provided is LoopMe’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location. All employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as stock-based compensation, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
