What you will do...

• Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain database systems (SQL);
• Performance Tuning: Optimize queries, indexing, and overall database performance;
• Security & Compliance: Implement access controls, encryption, and ensure compliance with security policies (e.g. GDPR);
• Backup & Recovery: Design and implement backup strategies to prevent data loss;
• High Availability & Scalability: Manage database clustering, replication, and failover solutions;
• Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts for automating database tasks (SQL, Python, Bash);
• Troubleshooting & Support: Monitor database health, resolve issues, and support development teams;
• Cloud & DevOps Integration: Work with Azure or AWS and CI/CD pipelines.

What is your experience...

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience);
• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on DBA experience with SQL Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.);
• Strong knowledge of SQL queries, stored procedures, and database internals;
• DBs deployment/management on Kubernetes or Docker/Docker Compose;
• Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing;
• Knowledge of backup strategies, disaster recovery, and high availability techniques;
• Familiarity with cloud database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.);
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana;
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation;

Experience in the following will be considered as an asset:

• Certification in AWS/Azure Database Services or Oracle/Microsoft DBA Certification;
• Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain database systems (NoSQL);
• Familiarity with database migrations and ETL processes;
• Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines and/or Terraform.
