CMC is a fast-growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) based in Exeter, NH, and we’re looking for a Senior IT Engineer to join our in-house team. This is a deeply hands-on role ideal for someone who loves solving complex problems, working directly with clients, and being a key player in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.You’ll be the go-to expert for escalations, project implementations, and systems design. You’ll work closely with our clients and internal teams to ensure environments are running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This position is based out of our Exeter office and may include local travel to client sites in the Boston area. This is a hybrid position, with 1-2 days in the office each week.ResponsibilitiesAct as Tier 2 technical support for escalations and complex issuesArchitect and implement infrastructure and cloud solutions for small to mid-sized businessesSupport and maintain environments including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware), Fortigate firewalls,, and Rubrik backupsPerform on-site visits for project work, assessments, and troubleshootingCollaborate with account managers to align IT strategy with client business goalsDocument client environments and follow best practices for security and standardizationProvide mentorship to junior team members and help develop SOPsParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours support when requiredTechnical Experience Microsoft 365, including Intune and Defender suite (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps, Office 365)Rubrik Security CloudVeeam Backup and ReplicationCitrix published apps and VDIVMware vSphereFortinet Firewalls and SwitchesHP and Dell server hardwareQuantum tape librariesWindows and Linux serversLogicMonitor 10+ years of hands-on IT experience, including 3–5 years in an MSP environmentDeep knowledge of Microsoft ecosystems: Windows Server, Microsoft 365, AzureExperience with firewalls, switches, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs)Virtualization experience with Hyper-V and/or VMwareFamiliarity with RMM/PSA tools like ConnectWise or similarStrong communication skills and client-facing professionalismAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-growing MSP environmentCertifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, VMware) are a plus but not requiredExperience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Teams Phone systems, or modern cloud-first infrastructure solutionsNice-to-HavesPowerShell or other scripting/automation experienceProject management or technical leadership backgroundFamiliarity with CMMC, SOX, and other compliance frameworks 401(k) eligibility after 3 monthsDental insuranceHealth insuranceunlimited PTOcell phone and Internet reimbursementchoice of Mac or Windows laptopCompensation Package:Bonus opportunities
