The Role
Our Senior Purchase Ledger Clerks are responsible for a portfolio of our highest volume stock suppliers which are key to our business so require time management to an exceptional level. To be successful in this role will require a strong knowledge of Purchase Ledger functions, a drive to provide excellent standards of service to our external suppliers and internal stakeholders and an ability to provide support across the PL department.
Our Senior PL clerks are highly organised, hold outstanding communication skills and are able to ensure their supplier base is always up to date. You will be experienced ideally within an online retail environment, able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of purchase ledger processes and ensure workload is consistently managed in line with business and Group procedures.
What you'll do
· End to end key account responsibility and reconciliation – UK and international suppliers
· Ensure high volume of invoices are processed and paid within terms
· Maintaining a high standard of communication with supplier base
· Weekly statement reconciliation
· Reviewing GRNI balances
· Resolution of complex queries within department SLAs
· Resolution and monitoring of debit balances
· Supporting new starters and ongoing team training
· Absence cover for colleagues
· Ad-hoc support for management
What you'll bring
· Excel skills – V-look ups and Pivot Tables desirable
· At least 2 years experience within a similar senior role
· Experience working with purchase orders and stock supplier base
· Thorough understanding of all Accounts Payable processes
· Very strong communication skills
· Experience working within a fast paced, high volume, processing function.
· Ability to autonomously work under pressure
· Ability to work cross-functionally
· Team player with a supportive nature
· Understand the necessity of maintaining confidentiality
· High attention to detail
· IT Literate (MS Office, ERP Systems, OCR processing)
· Be highly organised and able to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
