iDE Bangladesh is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Human Resources Unit as Sr. Officer – HR for maternity coverage. The role will support end-to-end recruitment, maintain HR data and personnel records, manage leave and time sheet processing, and facilitate staff placement and orientation. The position is also responsible for handling employee separation processes, ensuring policy compliance, supporting compensation and benefits administration, and contributing to strategic workforce planning.
The position will also support facilitating awareness-building initiatives pertaining to the organization's mandatory policies on safeguarding. These policies encompass areas such as Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Fraud, Anti-Harassment, Whistleblower, Protection, and Child Safeguarding, among others.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Sr. Officer-HR will include the following:
Key Responsibilities:
● Oversee end-to-end recruitment tasks, including candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and post-selection communication etc.
● Facilitate the onboarding process by coordinating with relevant units to ensure smooth orientation and integration of new employees.
● Take necessary actions to ensure timely issuance of ID cards, visiting cards, and official email addresses for new staff.
● Opening and managing Hiring Files and Personnel Files on a regular basis and ensure its confidentiality.
● Maintain and regularly update the HR master database and support to generate various HR reports in a regular basis.
● Accurately track and manage staff leave records and prepare year-end leave balance reports.
● Oversee monthly timesheet management, including:
- Sending allocation emails to all shared staff.
- Tracking timesheet submissions and ensuring proper documentation.
● Support the performance management process by coordinating appraisal cycles, ensuring timely evaluations, maintaining records, and assisting with related capacity-building activities.
● Assist to organize and facilitate staff training sessions and awareness programs on safeguarding topics, including PSEA, Anti-Fraud, Anti-Harassment, Whistleblower, and Child Safeguarding policies, to promote a safe and respectful work environment.
● Track and manage HR reminders related to contract completion, probation periods, and other key milestones, and issue relevant letters in line with organizational policies and procedures.
● Assist in preparing monthly payroll and processing payments for interns, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
● Support employee engagement initiatives by organizing team-building activities to promote staff motivation and retention.
● Manage the separation process for exiting staff, ensuring timely submission of handover reports to Finance for final settlement in compliance with organizational policies.
● Provide necessary support during internal and external audits as required.
● Coordinate with field teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of HR support to field staff.
● Regularly follow up on staff inclusion and exclusion for insurance coverage and coordinate with the insurance provider to ensure timely claim submissions and benefit processing.
Other Responsibilities:
● Assist to develop and disseminate HR policies as and when required.
● Assist line supervisor to collaborate with the SMT and other relevant stakeholders to address employee relations and safeguarding concerns.
● Represent iDE at external events and meetings as agreed with the line supervisor;
Skills and Experience:
Candidates are expected to have the following qualification, skills, and experience
Education:
● Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Public Administration, Management, Business Administration, or other relevant field.
Work Experience:
● Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in human resource management, preferably within international organizations or large corporations; prior experience with INGOs will be an added advantage.
● Proven experience in managing day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, with a strong ability to collaborate across departments.
● Proficiency in handling and maintaining large HR datasets in Excel, including the ability to generate and analyze various HR reports.
● Demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet deadlines consistently.
● Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
● Solid understanding of HR best practices and in-depth knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Law.
● Awareness of safeguarding principles and practices, including areas such as prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, anti-harassment, fraud prevention, whistleblower protection, and child safeguarding, will be considered an asset.
Personal Skills:
● Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bangla
● Demonstrated ability to convey messages through clear and concise way
● Ability to strategies innovative human resources approaches to address employee-related needs
● Proven critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex HR challenges
● Flexibility to adapt to different work conditions and
● Proficiency in MS Word, power point, excel as well as G suite is must
Physical Ability and Mindset
● Ability to travel to the field as needed to engage and conduct various organizational HR training;
● Ability to understand and support managers, supervisors, and staff while ensuring fair and consistent application of HR regulations and rules.
