Position Summary:

Mast-Jägermeister US is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting a variety of accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, cash management, and assisting with tax and audit requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, is highly motivated, and can manage complex tasks with accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accounting practices align with company goals and compliance standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ad hoc requests.
  • Support the Accounting Manager with the coordination of audit activities, providing required documentation and ensuring timely completion.
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank accounts, general ledger accounts) to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in processing payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment of employees while maintaining compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors on quarterly and year-end tax compliance requirements.
  • Support the implementation of on-going process improvement initiatives.
  • Ad hoc projects: Support the Accounting Manager with additional tasks and special projects as needed.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 1-3 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within a corporate finance team or Public Accounting
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; SAP experience preferred.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally, with a collaborative attitude.
