The Role

As a Product Team in Ferryhopper we are always looking to deliver excellent products that make the life of travellers better and easier. We go the extra mile and provide solutions for ferry travellers even in non-well defined problems. We were the first team to dive deep into improving the customer experience for ferry trips. Deeply thought UI/UX, corresponding ferry itineraries, the first mobile app for ferries, online modifications are just some of the features that we boast for!

Our Core Products team is building the backbone of our systems and all our internal tools. The team is responsible for the data structures of Ferryhopper and is enabling all the other teams to create new features and functionalities. Apart from this, the Core Products team is also responsible for our internal tools that make our everyday operations easier.

As a Product Manager of our Core Products, you will have the opportunity to change the way people perceive online ferry booking. Within our team you will be responsible for leading the full life-cycle of new features, driving the respective vision, strategy and roadmap. By definition this role is cross-functional and you will be working closely with software engineers, QA engineers & the product managers of other teams to bring what matters into life. Apart from the Engineering team, your stakeholders will range between customer service, marketing, commercial and finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize projects and set goals aligned with the product strategy
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Product Managers to commonly structure the OKRs of the Core Products team
  • Own the backlog and the product roadmap for the Core Products team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (customer service, marketing, commercial and finance) to understand their needs and transform them into features
  • Break down complex ideas into executable features and priorities
  • Define the MVP of each feature and prioritize the issues respectively
  • Produce detailed and clear specifications for new product features, appropriately comprehensible by the engineering teams;
  • Participate and contribute to the scrum rituals of the team
  • Work side-by-side with our developers
  • Write and maintain the documentation of the developed features and entities
  • Ensure the quality of the feature to be released
  • Ensure the integrity and the continuity of the solutions

The ideal candidate will have a track record of owning and managing technology products from conceptualization to launch, show a deep customer focus, and have a mature business judgment. Highest levels of quality in products and customer experience are among our key values in Ferryhopper and what this role will strive to deliver.

If we could break these down to bullets, the following would be required:

  • At least 2 years of experience in product management and at least 4 years of experience in digital products
  • A proven track record of bringing to life experiences that users love, shown through your ability to conceptualize, define and deliver
  • Comfort with transforming vague ideas into clear actions
  • A sharp, analytical mind: your decisions should be data-driven and supported by the data that you have researched and collected
  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem
  • Understanding software architecture
  • Understanding design and usability principles behind a scalable application
  • Well versed in lean product development and agile engineering methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Familiarity with project / task management tools (JIRA, Click-up, Asana etc.)
  • Great communication and organizational skills; you will be functioning in an international environment.

Remote policy: For teams located in Athens, the policy is to visit the office a minimum of once per week.
