Position Available: Part-Time Elementary and Middle School Band Teacher

Schedule: Daytime and/or Afterschool Schedules Available 

Compensation: $45-50/hr. depending on individual experience, education and position requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for students at varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced.  
• Teach a variety of instruments, including but not limited to woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings.  
• Direct and conduct band ensembles, student performances, concerts, and recitals.  
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and confidence.  
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.  
• Collaborate with school staff and administration to integrate music education into the broader school curriculum.

Our ideal candidate will come to us with:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field preferred
• Experience teaching music in an elementary or middle school or private instruction setting preferred
• Proficiency in teaching multiple instruments and directing ensembles- Experience with school band programs, including jazz, concert, or marching bands is a plus!
• Flexibility to work during the school day and/or afterschool, depending on availability
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A love and passion for working with elementary and middle school students
• Familiarity with music curriculum development and student assessment strategies preferred
• A background in integrating music technology or composition into lessons preferred
• Ability to inspire and motivate young musicians!
