Job Summary

We are seeking a Raw Material Specialist who will be responsible for managing the procurement and documentation of raw materials used in cosmetic products. This entry-level position will involve coordinating with suppliers to request technical documents and samples, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and inputting detailed information into internal systems. Additionally, the Raw Material Specialist works closely with the Regulatory Team, serving as the main point of contact for internal inquiries and requests. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the cosmetics industry and a commitment to accuracy and organization. Interest in Regulatory is a plus.  

Responsibilities

• Contact raw material suppliers to request samples and technical documents for raw materials (SDS, COA, chemical composition, source, vegan, RSPO, etc.) Request (purchasing) raw material information including price, lead time, MOQ, shelf life. Follow up on documentation requests with suppliers. Track and report progress of raw material samples & documentation requests 

• Input raw material INCI names and upload documents into proprietary software. 

• Input raw material information including price, lead time, MOQ, shelf life into proprietary software. 

• Receive inquiries from customers through Project Managers and direct them to the appropriate department, including Regulatory, Quality and R&D.  

• Support the Regulatory team by gathering and compiling all documents required for regulatory reviews and technical dossiers 

• Issue statements such as shelf life/ Period After Opening (PAO) with guidance of the Regulatory team 

• Perform other activities such as coordinating vendor meetings with R&D as required 

• 0-3 Years of experience 
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related fields
• Knowledge of ingredients and formulations used in the cosmetic industry is preferred. Interest in Regulatory is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills 
• Project management - preferred 
• Highly detail oriented 
• Ability to work with minimal supervision 
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, and other business software
