The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Athens. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial statements and reports and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

As a Senior Accountant, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Accounting department in alignment with the company's goals and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting department and the general accounting functions
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing (ensures timely reconciliations to provide correct monthly / annual financial data)
  • Participate in the preparation & timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company’s targets
  • Prepare other ad hoc analysis/reports as per management requirements
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance, Economics. A Master's degree is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, additional experience in accounting supervisory role or relevant certifications will be considered a plus
  • Good understanding of accounting/finance IT tools
  • Good knowledge of Accounting and G.A.A.P
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, highly proficient particularly in Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and administrative skills
