The Job

You will join our Accounting team anchored within Finance & Operations. As Senior Financial Controller, you will take ownership of complex accounting, controlling, and reporting tasks across our corporate structure. Working closely with the Head of Accounting, you will be a trusted sparring partner, ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency while supporting key business decisions. Beyond the numbers, you will also be a driving force in our digital journey and operational excellence, helping to streamline finance processes, integrate innovative solutions, and support our global expansion.

You will collaborate closely with our teams in Finance, which aside Accounting consists of Tax, FP&A, Investment Operations, Valuation, Procurement and Facility Management. In this role, you will further work with stakeholders and colleagues daily across the organisation.

We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You have a strong financial toolkit, a keen analytical mindset, and the ability to drive both operational excellence and cross-organisational initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the month-end closing processes for various entities within the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Holdings’ structure
• Controlling costs as part of the monthly and quarterly reporting processes
• Preparing annual reports in collaboration with the Head of Accounting for multiple entities of different sizes
• Driving and optimising accounting processes and ensuring best practices within internal controls
• Participating in finance-related projects, including ERP upgrades and process improvements
• Acting as a Finance Business Partner for selected internal stakeholders

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with:

• A relevant degree, such as an MSc in Auditing/Business Administration, HD(R), or a BSc in Auditing
• 10+ years of experience in an accounting or controlling function, ideally in a mid-size or large international company
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Experience with financial IT systems (Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft D365 BC, Continia products and Concur Travel is a plus)
• Excellent communication skills in both Danish and English (written and spoken)
